How to Make Asian Noodle Skillet
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add 1 tablespoon grated ginger and 2 cloves minced garlic to the skillet. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add 1 cup broccoli florets, 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers, and 1/2 cup sliced carrots to the skillet. Stir-fry for 5-6 minutes, or until vegetables are crisp-tender.
- Toss the vegetables with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and set aside.
- Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil in the skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add 1/2 pound of the thinly sliced beef to the skillet and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, or until the outside surface is no longer pink. Remove from skillet and set aside. Repeat with the remaining beef.
- Keep the cooked beef warm.
- Add 1 cup of water to the skillet and bring to a boil.
- Remove noodles from the package, break them into smaller pieces if necessary, and add them to the boiling water along with the seasoning packets (or 1 teaspoon soy sauce, 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil, and a pinch of salt).
- Bring the water back to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
- Simmer for 3 minutes, or until the noodles are tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Return the cooked beef and the stir-fried vegetables to the skillet.
- Heat through, stirring gently to combine everything.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
