How to Make Best Ever Spanish Sangria
- In a small saucepan, combine orange juice, lemon juice, sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon stick.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves and steam rises (about 5-7 minutes).
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- In a large heatproof pitcher, combine the red wine and brandy.
- Pour the cooled citrus-spice mixture into the pitcher.
- Add the orange slices and rosemary leaves (or other herbs). Gently stir to combine.
- If using, add the thinly sliced apples or pears (soaked in brandy overnight). Stir gently.
- Refrigerate for at least 24 hours to allow the flavors to meld. The longer it chills, the better it tastes!
- (Optional) Add other fruits like berries, peaches or cherries just before serving.
- Serve chilled and enjoy!
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
