How to Make Broken Glass Salad

  1. Prepare three (3) packages of JELL-O®: one lime, one strawberry, and one orange. Use 1 cup boiling water and 1/2 cup cold water per package, following package directions.
  2. Pour each JELL-O® mixture into separate 8x8 inch baking pans.
  3. Refrigerate until completely firm.
  4. Drain one (20 ounce) can of pineapple chunks, reserving the juice.
  5. Heat the reserved pineapple juice in a saucepan until boiling.
  6. Ensure you have 1 cup of pineapple juice. Add water if necessary to reach 1 cup of liquid.
  7. Add one (3 ounce) package of lemon JELL-O® to the boiling pineapple juice.
  8. Remove from heat.
  9. Add 1/2 cup granulated sugar.
  10. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved.
  11. Add 1/2 cup cold water.
  12. Add 4 ounces of Cool Whip® whipped topping and the drained pineapple chunks.
  13. Stir gently to combine.
  14. If needed, add up to another 4 ounces of Cool Whip® for desired consistency. The mixture should be slightly thick, not runny.
  15. Cut the set JELL-O® into 1/2-inch cubes.
  16. Gently fold the JELL-O® cubes into the pineapple mixture.
  17. Pour the mixture into a clear glass bowl.
  18. Refrigerate for 5-8 hours, or overnight, to allow flavors to meld and the dessert to chill thoroughly.
