- 1 lb ground beef
- Taco Seasoning
- 1 (15 ounce) can refried beans
- Cheese
- Green Onion
- Tortilla chips, for serving
- Water (as directed on taco seasoning packets)
How to Make Nachos Casserole
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown 1 lb ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add 2 packets of taco seasoning to the browned beef.
- Fill each taco seasoning packet with water (as directed on the packet) and add to the beef mixture.
- Stir well to combine.
- Simmer the meat mixture for 15 minutes, covered, or until the water has evaporated and the mixture is no longer soupy.
- Spread 1 (15 ounce) can of refried beans evenly over the bottom of a 9x13 inch casserole dish.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the refried beans.
- Pour the meat mixture over the cheese and beans, spreading evenly.
- Cover with the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and top with 1/4 cup chopped green onions.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips and your favorite toppings (sour cream, guacamole, jalapeños, etc.).
