How to Make Sangria Con Tequila

  1. In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely and the syrup is clear.
  2. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool completely.
  3. In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine the cooled sugar syrup, 1 bottle (750ml) dry red wine, 1 cup orange juice, 1/2 cup lime juice, 1/2 cup tequila, and 1/4 cup orange liqueur.
  4. Gently stir to combine all ingredients.
  5. Just before serving, stir in 1 cup of sparkling water or club soda.
  6. Add assorted fruit slices (1 orange, 1 lime, 1 lemon, 1/2 cup chopped strawberries, 1/2 cup chopped peaches – or your favorites!) and plenty of ice to the pitcher.
  7. Stir gently and serve immediately in glasses filled with ice.
