How to Make Sausage Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown 1 lb Italian sausage (removed from casings) over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, 1 (14.1 ounce) can diced tomatoes (undrained), 1/2 cup chopped onion, 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
  4. Mix well and set aside.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out 2 (10-inch) pie crusts. Place one crust in each 10-inch pie plate.
  6. Divide the sausage mixture evenly between the two pie crusts.
  7. Top each pie with the remaining pie crust. Crimp the edges to seal. Cut several slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  8. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  9. Let cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
