How to Make Spiced Dried Fruit Salad

  1. Combine 200g mixed dried fruit (such as apricots, cranberries, raisins, and currants), 1 cinnamon stick, 3 whole cloves, 2 tablespoons honey, a pinch of saffron threads, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and the zest of 1 lemon in a saucepan.
  2. Add just enough cold water to barely cover the fruit.
  3. Place the saucepan over low-medium heat and gently bring to a simmer.
  4. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring gently once halfway through.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool to your desired serving temperature. Remove the cinnamon stick and cloves.
  6. Just before serving, stir in 50g slivered almonds, 50g shelled pistachios, and 2-3 drops of orange flower water.
