How to Make Tropical Oatmeal

  1. Combine 1/2 cup rolled oats and 1 cup water (or milk) in a microwave-safe bowl or small saucepan.
  2. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes, or cook on the stovetop over medium heat for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until desired consistency is reached.
  3. While the oats are cooking, slice 1 medium banana into 1/4-inch thick rounds. Cut each round into 4 pieces.
  4. Once the oatmeal is cooked, stir in 1/2 teaspoon of coconut extract and the sliced bananas.
  5. (Optional) Add 1-2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup to sweeten, and/or add more milk or water to adjust the consistency.
  6. Enjoy immediately!
