Ingredients for Abm Dinner Rolls

  • Water
  • Eggs
  • Butter
  • 1 tablespoon milk or cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Bread Flour
  • Bread Machine Yeast
  • 1 egg yolk

How to Make Abm Dinner Rolls

  1. In a stand mixer, combine 1 cup warm water (105-115°F), 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 1 teaspoon salt. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter, 1 large egg, and 3-4 cups all-purpose flour (add gradually). Mix with the dough hook until a smooth, slightly sticky dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12-15 equal pieces.
  6. Shape each piece into a roll and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking pan.
  7. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. In a small bowl, whisk together 1 egg yolk and 1 tablespoon milk or cream.
  10. Brush the egg wash over the rolls.
  11. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  12. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
