Ingredients for Amazing Chicken Marinade

  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • Whole Grain Mustard
  • Garlic
  • Lime
  • Lemon
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Ground Black Pepper
  • Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast Halves

How to Make Amazing Chicken Marinade

  1. In a large, non-reactive bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  2. Whisk in 1/4 cup olive oil and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
  3. Add chicken pieces (about 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs) to the marinade.
  4. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours, or preferably overnight.
  5. Remove chicken from marinade and let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before grilling.
  6. Discard the used marinade.
  7. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (approximately 375°F). Lightly oil the grill grates.
  8. Grill chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Reduce heat if necessary to prevent burning.
  9. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
