How to Make Apple Almond Teacake
- Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Grease and line a 20cm round, deep cake pan with baking paper.
- In a small bowl, cream together the butter and sugar using an electric mixer until pale, light, and fluffy (approximately 3-5 minutes).
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
- In a large bowl, gently combine half of the milk and half of the sifted flour with the creamed mixture.
- Stir in the remaining milk and flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
- Arrange apple slices evenly over the top of the batter.
- Sprinkle the sliced almonds evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
