How to Make Apple And Onion To Serve With Pork
- Gently sauté 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced, in 1 tablespoon of butter over very low heat for 20 minutes, until softened and translucent.
- Remove the onions from the pan using a slotted spoon and set aside.
- In the same pan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add 2 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced. Sauté until golden brown and slightly softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the cooked onions back to the pan.
- Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (or white wine vinegar).
- Stir to combine, cover the pan, and remove from heat.
