- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
How to Make Arkansas Green Beans
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

- Place the drained/rinsed green beans in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, cook 6 slices of bacon until crispy. Remove bacon from skillet and chop into large pieces. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup packed brown sugar, 1/4 cup melted butter, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, and 1 teaspoon garlic powder.
- Sprinkle the chopped bacon evenly over the green beans in the baking dish.
- Pour the brown sugar mixture evenly over the bacon and green beans.
- Bake uncovered for 40 minutes, or until green beans are tender and the topping is slightly caramelized.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
