How to Make Awesome Crab Dip
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup and 8 ounces cream cheese. Stir constantly until the cream cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Add 2 cloves minced garlic, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix, and 1/2 cup drained and chopped water chestnuts.
- Stir in 1/4 cup milk to reach desired consistency. Heat gently for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables in the soup mix are tender and rehydrated.
- Remove from heat and stir in 1 (10 ounce) can crabmeat (drained), and 2 tablespoons chopped green onions.
- Transfer the dip to a bread bowl (or oven-safe serving dish). Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes, or until heated through and bubbly (optional).
- Serve immediately with sliced or cubed toasted sourdough bread.
