How to Make Awesome Swiss And Mozzarella Ham Hoagies

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread the inside bottoms of the hoagie rolls with mayonnaise.
  3. In a bowl, toss the ham slices with the Italian dressing.
  4. Pile the dressed ham generously inside the rolls; do not flatten.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the shredded Swiss and Mozzarella cheese.
  6. Pile the cheese mixture on top of the ham in each roll.
  7. Wrap each hoagie loosely in aluminum foil, sealing the top of the foil closed.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the hoagies are heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from oven. Spread the tops of the rolls with softened butter.
  10. Broil for 1-2 minutes, or until the butter is melted and the tops are lightly toasted. Watch carefully to prevent burning!
  11. While the tops are toasting, quickly open the foil and top each hoagie with lettuce tossed in salt and pepper, followed by tomato slices.
  12. Place the toasted roll tops back on the hoagies.
  13. Serve immediately and enjoy your Romano's-inspired masterpiece!
