How to Make Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pre-bake your pizza crust (12-inch) on a pizza pan or baking sheet until golden brown. (approx. 8-10 minutes)
- While the crust pre-bakes, cook 1 lb ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat with 1/2 cup chopped onion and 2 cloves minced garlic until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Season the cooked ground beef with 1 tsp seasoned salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper and 1/4 cup chopped jalapeño (optional).
- Add 1 cup of your favorite pizza sauce (we recommend recipe #65641!). Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Spread the ground beef mixture evenly over the pre-baked pizza crust.
- Sprinkle 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture, followed by 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Top with 4-6 slices of cooked and crumbled bacon.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 8-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
