How to Make Bacon Stuffing

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Break 1 loaf (about 16 oz) of day-old bread into bite-sized pieces and place in a large bowl.
  3. Fry 1/2 lb bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crisp. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup bacon grease in the skillet.
  4. Add 1 medium onion, chopped, and 2 celery stalks, chopped, to the skillet with the bacon grease. Add 4 tablespoons of butter.

  6. Set aside the onion and celery mixture to cool slightly.
