How to Make Baked Apples Yum Yum

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Core apples from the stem end, creating a hole approximately 1 inch in diameter. Do not core completely to the bottom.
  3. Line an 8x5x3 inch glass baking dish with aluminum foil.
  4. In a small bowl, thoroughly mix together 1/4 cup packed brown sugar, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
  5. Place approximately 2 tablespoons of the sugar mixture into the center of each cored apple.
  6. Gently pour 3 ounces (approximately 1/3 cup) of root beer into the center of each apple. Some overflow is fine.
  7. Place the apples upright in the prepared baking dish.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Carefully remove the apples from the oven using two large spoons.
  10. Transfer each apple to an individual serving bowl.
  11. Spoon the baking juices over the top of each apple and serve warm.
