Ingredients for Baked Pasta

  • Ground Beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • Penne Pasta
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Cottage Cheese
  • 24 oz jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce

How to Make Baked Pasta

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and chopped onion. Cook, breaking up the beef with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, egg, oregano, rosemary, and thyme. Mix well.
  5. In a 12x9 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of spaghetti sauce on the bottom.
  6. Layer half of the cooked pasta over the sauce.
  7. Top with half of the meat mixture, and then half of the cheese mixture.
  8. Repeat layers: sauce, pasta, meat, cheese.
  9. Spread the remaining spaghetti sauce over the top.
  10. Cover the baking dish with foil.
  11. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until bubbly and heated through. Remove foil during the last 10 minutes to allow the top to brown slightly.
