Ingredients for Balsamic And Garlic Marinated Steak

  • 1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar
  • Chili Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • Italian Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • Ground Black Pepper
  • Top Round Steaks

How to Make Balsamic And Garlic Marinated Steak

  1. In a shallow glass dish or resealable bag, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, garlic, olive oil, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the steak to the marinade, ensuring it's fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours, or preferably overnight, turning the steak occasionally.
  4. Remove the steak from the marinade and reserve the marinade.
  5. Preheat your grill to high heat.
  6. Grill the steak over direct high heat for 5 minutes per side, until a nice sear develops.
  7. Move the steak to a cooler part of the grill.
  8. Cover the grill and continue cooking to your desired doneness (see note below), basting occasionally with the reserved marinade.
  9. Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
  10. Discard any remaining marinade.
  11. Slice the steak against the grain and serve. Enjoy with your grilled vegetables!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
