Ingredients for Awesome Chili

  • 1 lb ground chuck
  • Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 green bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 2 stalks celery (chopped)
  • Jalapeno Peppers
  • 1 (12 ounce) bottle beer
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Chicken Bouillon Cubes
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Hot sauce (optional, to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Cheddar Cheese

How to Make Awesome Chili

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add 1 green bell pepper (chopped), 1 medium onion (chopped), 2 stalks celery (chopped), and 1 jalapeño pepper (minced) and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add 1 lb ground chuck and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in 2 tablespoons chili powder, 1 tablespoon cumin, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Mix well.
  4. Add 2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes, 1 (12 ounce) bottle beer, and 2 beef bouillon cubes. Bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour.
  6. Add 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed. Simmer for another 30 minutes.
