How to Make Beef Fried Rice
- Cut beef into small, bite-sized pieces.
- In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- In a medium bowl, whisk 2 large eggs with a pinch of black pepper.
- In the same skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat.
- Pour in the egg mixture and cook, gently lifting the edges to allow uncooked egg to flow underneath, until set. Remove from skillet and chop into strips.
- Add 1 cup of cooked rice to the skillet. (Note: day-old rice works best!)
- Add 1/2 cup chopped onion, 1/2 cup chopped carrots, and 1/2 cup frozen peas to the skillet. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
- Add the cooked beef and scrambled eggs back to the skillet.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce (optional), and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil.
- Cook and stir over medium-low heat for 5 minutes, or until heated through and flavors have combined.
- Serve hot and garnish with chopped green onions, if desired.
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Elevate your dish with simple flavor boosters! A final flourish of freshly chopped herbs can add incredible brightness, while a squeeze of lemon or lime juice right before serving can awaken all the flavors. Don't underestimate a sprinkle of quality finishing salt or a drizzle of good olive oil to make your creation shine.
