Ingredients for Beef Kabobs Kebabs

  • Pineapple Chunks
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Cider Vinegar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • Catsup
  • Ground Ginger
  • Honey
  • Round Tip Roast
  • Mushroom Cap
  • Onion
  • Green Pepper
  • Red Potatoes

How to Make Beef Kabobs Kebabs

  1. Drain one (20 ounce) can of pineapple chunks, reserving the juice.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the reserved pineapple juice, 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.
  3. Pour the marinade into a large, shallow dish.
  4. Add 2 pounds of cubed beef sirloin (about 1-inch cubes) to the marinade. Cover and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 4 hours).
  5. Remove the beef from the marinade, reserving the marinade.
  6. In a saucepan, bring the reserved marinade to a boil over medium heat.
  7. Add 8 ounces of sliced mushrooms to the boiling marinade. Reduce heat to low, simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender.
  8. Remove the mushrooms from the marinade, reserving the marinade.
  9. Thread the beef, pineapple chunks, mushrooms, 1 medium onion (cut into chunks), 1 green bell pepper (cut into chunks), and 2 medium potatoes (cut into 1-inch chunks) onto skewers, alternating ingredients as desired.
  10. Preheat grill to medium heat. Grill the kabobs for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally and basting frequently with the reserved marinade and/or your favorite BBQ sauce, until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness and vegetables are tender.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
