How to Make Beef Rice
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add the chopped onion and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the beef broth, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
- In a 1 1/2-quart greased casserole dish, combine the cooked rice and the beef broth mixture.
- (Optional) Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Cover the casserole dish and bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the rice is cooked through and the liquid is absorbed.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
