How to Make Country Ribs Crock Pot

  1. Place 1 large onion, thinly sliced into rings, in the bottom of a 3 1/2 quart crock pot.
  2. Trim excess fat from 3 lbs country-style pork ribs and place them on top of the onions.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together:
  4. * 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  5. * 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  6. * 1/2 cup brown sugar
  7. * 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  8. * 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  9. * 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  10. * 1 teaspoon onion powder
  11. * 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  12. Reserve 1 cup of the tomato mixture; cover and refrigerate for later use as a sauce.
  13. Pour the remaining tomato mixture over the ribs in the crock pot. Cover.
  14. Cook on high for 5-6 hours, or on low for 8-10 hours, until the ribs are fork-tender.
  15. Remove ribs from crock pot; discard cooking liquid.
  16. In a small saucepan, simmer the reserved 1 cup of tomato mixture for 10 minutes over medium heat.
  17. Serve the ribs generously drizzled with the simmered sauce on heated plates. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
