How to Make Deep Dish Taco Pizza
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large nonstick skillet, brown 1 lb ground beef over medium-high heat. Add 1/2 medium onion, chopped, and 2 cloves minced garlic. Cook until beef is browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
- Drain off any excess grease and return the beef mixture to the skillet.
- Stir in 1 (15 ounce) can of diced tomatoes, undrained, 1 packet taco seasoning, and 1/4 cup of water. Cook for 1 minute, or until heated through.
- Set aside.
- Unroll 1 (13.8 ounce) package of refrigerated pizza crust dough. Press it into the bottom and halfway up the sides of a 13 x 9 inch baking dish coated with cooking spray.
- Evenly spread the beef mixture over the pizza crust.
- Bake for 12 minutes at 425°F (220°C).
- Remove from oven and sprinkle with 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite Mexican blend).
- Bake for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust edges are golden brown.
- Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm, topped with your favorite taco toppings such as salsa, sour cream, shredded lettuce, and/or black olives.
