How to Make Farmhouse Apple Cherry Pie

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the peeled, cored, and sliced apples and cherries with the sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss gently to coat.
  3. Pour the lemon juice over the fruit mixture and toss again. Set aside.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pie crust dough into a 12-inch circle. Carefully transfer the dough to a 9-inch pie plate.
  5. Pour the apple and cherry filling into the pie crust.
  6. Roll out the second pie crust and either place it over the filling or cut into strips for a lattice top. Crimp the edges to seal.
  7. Cut several slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. If the crust starts to brown too quickly, cover the edges with foil.
  9. Let the pie cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
