How to Make Hash Brown Quiche

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Gently press 2 cups of drained hash browns between paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. In a 9-inch pie plate, toss the hash browns with 2 tablespoons of melted butter.
  4. Press the hash browns firmly into the bottom and up the sides of the pie plate to form a crust.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and starting to crisp.
  6. Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, whisk together the remaining ingredients: 6 large eggs, 1 cup milk or cream, 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup chopped onion, 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper (any color), 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
  7. Once the hash brown crust is ready, carefully pour the egg mixture over it.
  8. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F (177°C).
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the quiche is light golden brown on top and the center is set. A knife inserted near the center should come out clean.
  10. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
