How to Make Muesli Apple Crumble

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the muesli base ingredients (see below): 1 ½ cups muesli, ½ cup rolled oats, ¼ cup brown sugar, 60g (¼ cup) melted butter. Mix well. Press firmly into a greased 23cm (9 inch) tart dish or pie plate.
  3. Peel, core, and slice 4-5 medium apples (about 1kg). Gently toss with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Spoon the apple mixture evenly over the muesli base.
  4. For the crumble topping, combine in a saucepan: 60g (½ cup) plain flour, 60g (⅓ cup) brown sugar, 60g (⅓ cup) cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes. Stir over medium heat until the butter is melted and the mixture is crumbly.
  5. Spoon the crumble topping evenly over the apple filling. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
