How to Make Spinach Bacon And Mushroom Savory Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Bake a 9-inch frozen pie crust according to package directions. Remove from oven and reduce temperature to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Cook 4 slices bacon until crisp. Remove bacon and set aside, reserving 1 tablespoon of bacon grease.
  4. In the same pan, sauté 8 oz cremini mushrooms in the reserved bacon grease until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add 5 oz fresh spinach to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until wilted.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the crumbled cooked bacon.
  7. In a bowl, whisk together 4 large eggs, 1/2 cup milk, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  8. Stir in the spinach, mushroom, and bacon mixture and 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
  9. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese into the bottom of the pre-baked pie crust.
  10. Pour the egg mixture into the pie crust. Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any spills.
  11. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and lightly golden brown.
  12. Let the pie cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
