Ingredients for All In One Bolognaise
- Olive Oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- Steak
- Pasta Sauce
- Mushroom
- Red Wine
- Seasoning
- Small Shell Pasta
How to Make All In One Bolognaise
- Heat olive oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, sliced mushrooms, red wine, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add the pasta to the pot, stirring to combine.
- Add 2 cups of water or broth to the pot and bring back to a simmer, then continue to simmer until the pasta is cooked through, about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Add more water or broth as needed to prevent the sauce from becoming too thick.
- Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
