How to Make Angel Bread Bread Machine Recipe

  1. Grease two 5x9 inch bread pans with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Add all ingredients to your bread machine in the order specified by your machine's manual.
  3. Select the dough cycle on your bread machine and press start.
  4. Once the dough cycle is complete, gently remove the dough and place it on a lightly floured surface.
  5. Divide the dough in half.
  6. Shape each half into a loaf and place it into the prepared bread pans.
  7. Cover the loaves loosely with plastic wrap and let them rise in a warm place until doubled in size (approximately 1-1.5 hours).
  8. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the loaves are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  10. Immediately after removing from the oven, brush the tops of the loaves with melted margarine or butter.
  11. Let the loaves cool completely in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. Once completely cool, store the bread in a gallon-sized zip-top bag to maintain freshness. Enjoy!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
