Ingredients for Angel Hair Pasta With Oysters And Bacon

  • 4 slices bacon
  • Red Onion
  • Garlic Cloves
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Oyster
  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • Salt
  • Dry White Wine
  • Angel Hair Pasta
  • Fresh Parsley

How to Make Angel Hair Pasta With Oysters And Bacon

  1. Cook 4 slices of bacon until crispy. Remove bacon, crumble, and set aside. Reserve 2 tablespoons of bacon grease in the skillet.
  2. Sauté 1/2 medium yellow onion (chopped) and 2 cloves garlic (minced) in the bacon grease until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Transfer onion and garlic mixture to a lightly greased 2 1/2-quart casserole dish.
  4. In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.
  5. Add 1 pound fresh oysters (shucked), and sauté for 5 minutes, or until lightly browned and edges curl.
  6. Season oysters with 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  7. Pour in 1/2 cup dry white wine and bring to a boil, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  8. Add the oyster-wine mixture to the casserole dish with the onion and garlic.
  9. Add 1 pound angel hair pasta to the casserole dish and gently toss to combine.
  10. Sprinkle with the crumbled bacon.
  11. Bake in a preheated 375°F (190°C) oven for 20 minutes, or until heated through and bubbly.
  12. Garnish with 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
