Ingredients for Ani S Simple Wine Tasting Wraps

  • Flour Tortillas
  • Baby Spinach
  • Bell Peppers
  • 4 slices prosciutto (approximately 2 ounces total)
  • Provolone Cheese
  • 1 thin strip red onion (about 1 inch wide)

How to Make Ani S Simple Wine Tasting Wraps

  1. Lay a large flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. Place 2 slices (approximately 1 ounce total) of provolone cheese lengthwise on the tortilla, one slice closer to each edge.
  2. Add 4 leaves of fresh spinach, 2 thin slices (about 1/4 inch thick) of bell pepper, 2 slices (approximately 1 ounce) of prosciutto, and a thin strip (about 1 inch wide) of red onion. Arrange all ingredients lengthwise along the left side of the tortilla, leaving space between the ingredients and the cheese slices.
  3. Roll the tortilla tightly from left to right, tucking in the ingredients as you roll. Secure with a toothpick.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 with a second tortilla.
  5. Place both wraps in a microwave-safe dish and microwave for 1-1.5 minutes, or until the spinach is wilted and the cheese is melted and slightly gooey. Cooking time may vary depending on microwave wattage.
  6. Remove toothpicks and slice each wrap into 1-2 inch pieces.
  7. Place the cut wraps in an airtight container and bring them along to your next wine tasting! They pair wonderfully with black seedless grapes.
  8. Feel free to omit the red onion if desired.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
