- Country Style Pork Ribs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup apple butter
- Water (enough to cover ribs)
- White Vinegar
- Lemon Juice
- Prepared Horseradish
- Prepared Mustard
- Sugar
- Garlic Powder
- Celery Seed
- Red Pepper
- Ground Cumin
How to Make Apple Butter Country Ribs
- Place ribs in a large Dutch oven.
- Add enough water to completely cover the ribs.
- Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes, or until ribs are tender.
- Remove ribs from Dutch oven and drain well.
- Pat ribs dry with paper towels.
- Sprinkle ribs generously with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.
- Set ribs aside.
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup apple butter, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves, and 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg.
- Stir well to combine.
- Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat to low, and simmer uncovered for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
- Preheat grill to low heat (approximately 250°F).
- Generously coat the ribs with the apple butter sauce.
- Place ribs on the grill over indirect heat.
- Grill for 45 minutes, turning every 10 minutes and basting frequently with remaining sauce.
- Grill until ribs are tender and the glaze is caramelized and sticky.
- Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
