  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce apple juice (freshly squeezed is best!)
  • Syrup

How to Make Apple Thyme Martini

  1. Chill four martini glasses in the refrigerator.
  2. Make the thyme syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup water, 1 cup sugar, and 4 sprigs of fresh thyme.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat to a simmer.
  4. Simmer for 5 minutes, or until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  5. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool completely. Remove thyme sprigs.
  6. To assemble the martinis: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  7. Add 2 ounces of vodka, 1 ounce of apple juice, and 1/4 cup of cooled thyme syrup to the shaker.
  8. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
  9. Strain into the chilled martini glasses.
  10. Use a melon baller to scoop out small balls of apple.
  11. Garnish each martini with 3 apple balls and a small sprig of fresh thyme.
  12. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
