How to Make Asian Bbq Ribs
- Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C).
- Place ribs in a large baking pan.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the marinade ingredients (see below).
- Pour marinade evenly over the ribs, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Cover the baking pan tightly with aluminum foil.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
- Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking to allow to come to room temperature.
- Bake uncovered for 1 hour at 275°F (135°C).
- Increase oven temperature to 375°F (190°C).
- Continue baking uncovered for 45 minutes, or until the ribs are tender and the sauce is caramelized.
- For extra smoky flavor, transfer ribs to a grill for the last 10-15 minutes, grilling until the sauce is nicely charred (optional).
- Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in more tender meat.
- Slice and serve immediately. Enjoy!
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
