How to Make Baked American Spaghetti

  1. In a large frying pan, cook 1 medium onion, chopped, and 2 cloves garlic, minced, until softened. Add 1 lb ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Stir in 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes, 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce, 1 cup water, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1/2 teaspoon dried basil, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
