How to Make Baked Ziti With Spinach And Cheese

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook 10 oz (280g) package of spinach according to package directions. Drain thoroughly in a colander, then let cool slightly. Squeeze out as much excess water as possible.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked spinach with 2 large eggs, 15 oz (425g) ricotta cheese, 1 cup (200g) grated Parmesan cheese, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Mix well and set aside.
  4. In a separate large bowl, combine 1 lb (450g) cooked ziti pasta, 2 cups (475ml) your favorite marinara sauce, and 1 teaspoon dried oregano. Mix well.
  5. Lightly grease a 13x9 inch baking dish.
  6. Pour half of the ziti mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Layer half of the spinach and ricotta mixture evenly over the ziti.
  8. Top with the remaining ziti mixture and the remaining spinach and ricotta mixture.
  9. Sprinkle 1 cup (100g) shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
  10. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
  11. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until bubbly and heated through, and the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  12. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
