How to Make Beef Kwantung
- Prepare all vegetables: Cut the onion into 1-inch pieces, the steak into 1/2x2 inch strips, and the tomatoes into wedges. Slice mushrooms and celery thinly. Trim snow peas.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic, sliced mushrooms, and celery; sauté for 1-2 minutes until softened.
- Add the onion and continue to sauté for another minute.
- Add the beef strips to the wok and stir-fry until browned (about 3-5 minutes).
- Add the snow peas, soy sauce, and tomato wedges. Stir well to combine.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and chicken broth until smooth.
- Pour the cornstarch mixture into the wok. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens and becomes clear (about 1-2 minutes).
- Serve the Beef Kwantung stir-fry immediately over hot cooked rice.
