  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • Sherry Wine
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 6 tbsp vegetable oil

How to Make Beef With Onions

  1. Marinate 1 lb shredded beef in 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp cornstarch, 1 tbsp sherry, and 1 tsp sesame oil for at least 30 minutes (longer is better!).
  2. Heat 3 tbsp vegetable oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add 2 large onions, thinly sliced, and stir-fry until light golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Season with 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste).
  5. Remove onions from the pan and set aside.
  6. Add 3 more tbsp vegetable oil to the pan.
  7. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, until browned and cooked through.
  8. Return the onions to the pan and stir-fry for another minute to combine.
