How to Make Beef With Onions
- Marinate 1 lb shredded beef in 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp cornstarch, 1 tbsp sherry, and 1 tsp sesame oil for at least 30 minutes (longer is better!).
- Heat 3 tbsp vegetable oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add 2 large onions, thinly sliced, and stir-fry until light golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.
- Season with 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste).
- Remove onions from the pan and set aside.
- Add 3 more tbsp vegetable oil to the pan.
- Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, until browned and cooked through.
- Return the onions to the pan and stir-fry for another minute to combine.
- Serve immediately over rice or noodles. Garnish with chopped green onions (optional).
