- In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar, 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour, ¾ cup (90g) unsweetened cocoa powder, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda, and 1 teaspoon salt.
- Add 4 large eggs, 1 cup (240ml) milk, ½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil, and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract to the dry ingredients.
- Beat on medium speed with an electric mixer for 2 minutes.
- Gradually stir in 1 cup (240ml) boiling water. The batter will be thin.
- Pour batter evenly into the prepared pans.

- Invert cakes onto wire racks to cool completely.
- Once completely cool, frost with your favorite one-bowl buttercream frosting (recipe not included).
- Slice and serve. Enjoy! (Serves 8-10)
