How to Make Pleas N Chili

  1. In a large, non-stick skillet, brown 1.5 lbs ground meat (beef, pork, chicken, or turkey) over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon. Add 2 cloves minced garlic and 1 medium chopped onion. Cook for 9-10 minutes, or until the meat is fully cooked and the onions are softened.

  3. Transfer the cooked meat and vegetables to a slow cooker using a slotted spoon.

Add 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes, 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce, 1 (15 ounce) can rinsed & drained kidney beans, 1 (15 ounce) can rinsed & drained pinto beans, 1 cup beef broth, 1 tablespoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon cumin, 1/2 teaspoon oregano, 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional), and 1/2 cup of your favorite salsa to the slow cooker. Stir well to combine.

  6. Stir in 1 chopped green bell pepper.
  7. Cover and cook on high for an additional 15 minutes.
