- Flour Tortilla
How to Make Tasty Approved Golden Quesadillas
- Grate 1 cup of your chosen cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, Parmesan, etc.) and set aside.
- Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until hot. (Test by sprinkling a few water drops – they should sizzle immediately.)
- Sprinkle half the grated cheese (1/2 cup) evenly onto the hot skillet, spreading it to a diameter slightly smaller than your tortilla.
- Carefully place one 6-inch flour or corn tortilla on top of the cheese.
- Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and starting to brown around the edges.
- Using a spatula, gently lift an edge of the tortilla to check for browning and cheese adhesion.
- Once the cheese is golden and the tortilla is slightly crispy, carefully flip the quesadilla using the spatula.
- Cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until the other side is golden brown and crispy.
- Carefully remove the quesadilla from the skillet and slide it onto a plate.
- Repeat steps 3-9 with the remaining cheese and tortilla.
- Serve immediately with your favorite toppings: guacamole, salsa, sour cream, shredded lettuce, black olives, etc.
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
