Ingredients for 2 Pot Stove Top Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls

  • Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 medium head of cabbage (about 2 pounds), chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • Garlic Clove
  • Condensed Tomato Soup
  • Tomato Sauce
  • 3/4 cup water (may need more depending on desired consistency)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Long Grain Rice

How to Make 2 Pot Stove Top Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls

  1. Cook 1 cup of uncooked rice according to package directions. You should end up with approximately 2 cups of cooked rice.
  2. In a medium Dutch oven, brown 1 lb ground beef over medium-high heat. Add 1 medium onion, chopped, and 2 cloves garlic, minced, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Drain excess grease from the pot.
  4. Add 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup, 1/2 cup your favorite tomato sauce (or more, to taste!), 1/2 cup water, 1 medium head of cabbage (about 2 pounds), chopped, salt, and pepper to taste.
  5. Stir well to combine.
  6. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
  7. Stir occasionally. If the sauce becomes too thick, add another 1/4 cup of water.
  8. Divide the cooked rice evenly among 4 plates.
  9. Top each serving with the beefy tomato cabbage mixture.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
