  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar + ¼ cup packed brown sugar

  • ½ cup shredded coconut

How to Make A Different Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a 9-inch round cake pan.
  3. Stir in 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar and 1 tablespoon water.
  4. Sprinkle evenly with ½ cup shredded coconut and ¼ cup chopped pecans.
  5. Set aside.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour, ¾ cup granulated sugar, ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder, ¼ cup packed brown sugar, and 2 teaspoons baking powder.
