How to Make An Irish Apple Tart On A Plate

  1. Whisk together 225g all-purpose flour and 5g salt in a large bowl.
  2. Gradually add 100ml ice water, mixing until a firm dough forms.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out half the pastry to fit a 20cm ovenproof plate. Transfer to plate.
  4. Arrange 500g peeled, cored and thinly sliced apples over the pastry. Stud with 6 whole cloves, sprinkle generously with 25g granulated sugar and 1tsp ground cinnamon.
  5. Roll out the remaining pastry and cover the pie. Moisten the edges with water to seal.
