Ingredients for Any Flavor Easy Quiche
- Ready Made Pie Crust
- 4 large eggs (or 4 flax eggs for vegan option - see notes)
- Nonfat Milk
- Green Onion
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Ground Nutmeg
- Zucchini
- Cheese
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (optional)
How to Make Any Flavor Easy Quiche
- Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Line a 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade) with parchment paper or foil, ensuring it covers the bottom and sides. Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork.
- Blind bake the crust: Bake for 5 minutes with the foil/parchment in place. Remove the foil/parchment and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- Remove from oven and reduce temperature to 325°F (163°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together 4 large eggs (or 4 flax eggs for vegan option – see notes), 1 cup milk (or plant-based milk for vegan option), 1/2 cup chopped onion, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg.
- Add 1 cup of your choice of vegetables (e.g., chopped broccoli, spinach, mushrooms, bell peppers) or 1 cup cooked and crumbled meat (e.g., bacon, sausage, ham). Stir gently to combine.
- In a separate small bowl, toss 1 cup shredded cheese (or nutritional yeast for vegan option) with 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour (optional, helps thicken). Add to the egg mixture and stir well.
- Pour the egg mixture into the pre-baked pie crust. For even baking, consider placing the quiche on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the quiche is set and golden brown. If the crust starts to brown too quickly, loosely cover the edges with foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
