How to Make Apple Butter Steak
- Preheat your broiler to high.
- Place the steak on a plate.
- In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup apple butter, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
- Rub 2 tablespoons of the marinade onto both sides of the steak.
- Marinate the steak for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for maximum flavor).
- Place the marinated steak on a broiler pan set on an oven rack.
- Broil for 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the steak reaches your desired internal temperature.
- Once cooked, remove the steak from the broiler and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
- Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.
- Transfer the sliced steak to an oven-safe dish.
- Pour the remaining marinade over the steak.
- Broil for 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce is slightly caramelized and glazed.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
