How to Make Apple Everything Cake
- Grease and flour a 9x13 inch fluted cake pan.
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
- In a large bowl, beat together 1 cup vegetable oil, 1 cup milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 2 cups granulated sugar until well combined.
- Beat in 4 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 3 cups all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in 3 cups peeled and chopped apples, 1 cup chopped walnuts (or pecans), and 1/2 cup raisins (optional).
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 60-75 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- For best flavor, wrap the cooled cake tightly and refrigerate overnight before slicing and serving.
- Dust with powdered sugar or cocoa powder before serving.
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
